With over 70 different daylily plants and around fifty of them blooming right now, it is a beautiful display of colour in the gardens.  I am finally, seriously, taking their photos, and labeling each of them.  It is fun to go out every day and see if a new one has opened for me to capture with the camera.  The only problem I'm encountering is when a label is missing, thanks to the many birds that throw around the mulch, tossing the marker as well.  thankfully I have a record of each plant and a description on which to fall back on.

I've made an effort to have early, mid and late blooming daylilies and so have a long season to enjoy their colours.  Here is a sampling:

Ariana Crystal

Bama Bound

Bridal Suite

Button Box

Cherry Cheeks

Concord Baby

Destined to See

Doll House

Gentle Shepherd

Hush Little Baby

Jo Barbre

Lake Norman Spider

Lou Rainie

Seneca Coral Song

Siloame Double Classic

South Seas

Swallowtail Kite

Royal Frosting

Ruby Throat

Another piece completed last evening.  Teaching myself how to make the ear wires, head pins and the paper beads makes for slow going sometimes, but it does feel good to know that I am doing it!

I have finally finished the snake skin pendant and am working on the earrings and another pendant.  They are delicate to work with but they are fun pieces.

This is for Clay...a visual of some of the gardens at Blossom Hills.  I hope you enjoy the tour and hope to see you here someday!

The newest piece!  Copper on Aluminum with Freshwater Pearls.

Now that the peony show is over in the gardens, the daylilies are starting to make a show with some really nice surprises.

New Additions, But Not In The Gardens

My friend SF has been such an encouragement with my cards, giving me examples as to how I can expand on themes, etc.  SF creates beautifully crafted jewelry, and has encouraged me to try my hand at it, so I finally took the plunge and gave it a go.  Since I love all things paper, I decided to first try making hand rolled paper beads from some of the Japanese papers I used in my card making and then, from a nudge from SF, made some woven paper beads.  Loved doing it, but then, what to do with all these beads?  So, I had to MAKE something with them...earrings.  I like working with the metal aspect of it as well, so tried making all metal earrings.  Here are the results.  The best part is, people actually like them and buy them!

I have beads of all colours and will keep on creating with them.  The metaI I use are sterling silver, copper, brass and black steel, and have a few others I'm anxious to try.
